The Answer to Forever

"The Answer to Forever" tells the story of Jia Ying, a young girl who loses

her parents in an earthquake and is adopted into a new family in an unfamiliar

city. Struggling with trauma and isolation, she initially withdraws into herself.

However, through the unwavering kindness and patience of her new

grandmother, Jia Ying gradually opens her heart. Together, they share tender

moments—feeding pigeons, learning to read and write, and guarding each

other’s most vulnerable secrets

Yet, just as their bond deepens, fate intervenes: Grandma is diagnosed with a terminal illness. In a poignant and desperate attempt to save her, Jia Ying embarks on an innocent quest to find a mythical "life-extending fruit," symbolizing her childlike hope and love. 

Ultimately, she must confront the harsh reality of mortality and the heart-wrenching pain of saying goodbye .The film explores themes of love, loss, and resilience through the eyes of a child, offering a touching meditation on the inevitability of death and the courage needed to move forward.
